SLREF (Socio Legal Research & Education Foundation) is an independent, nonprofit organization based in New Delhi. SLREF is a trust registered under the Indian trusts act, 1882. SLREF was established with the primary objectives of conducting law and policy research on various aspects of socio-legal problems in the society with emphasis on tourism, environment and forests.

ADOPT A VILLAGE
SLREF as an NGO is assisting in the rehabilitation and infrastructure development of the village Narainkoti, District Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand since 2013 immediately after flashfloods strike. The objective is to showcase rural life, art, culture and heritage at rural locations and in villages, which have core competence in art & craft, handloom, and textiles as also an asset base in the natural environment. The intention is to benefit the local community economically and socially as well as enable interaction between tourists and local population for a mutually enriching experience.

Tourism, GOI) SLREF is now being appointed as “MONUMENT MITRA” for “NARAINKOTI GROUP OF TEMPLES” District Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand at a ceremony organized at Ashok Hotel, Delhi on 20th August’19
The project primarily focuses on development and maintenance of world-class tourist infrastructure and amenities including basic civic amenities and advanced amenities like cleanliness, public conveniences, secure environment, ease of access, illumination and night viewing facilities for inclusive tourist experience to increase both domestic and foreign tourists footfall.
NARAINKOTI TEMPLE
NARAINKOTI TEMPLE is village temple located in Rudraprayag District of Uttarkhand 3Kms from Guptkashi on Kedarnath Route.This is the only place in UK where Nine Planet Temple, Never dry water source kund and Adi Guru Shankaracharya developed many year old temples in the name of Lakshmi Narayan, Satya Narayan, Veerbhadra Mahadev, Banasur & there is 6ft high stone of Budha Age with some scripts mentioned. There is a saying that this place use to have more than 360 temple at some time in the past & because of this reason the place came to be known as “Narainkoti” or place where crores of Lord Narain shapes resides. There is another folklore that during Churning of the sea(Samudra Manthan) took place Lord Vishnu carrier “GARUD” carrying Amrit(Holy Nectar) stopped at a tree known as CHAM can also be found there.
Pandit Vishal Mani Sharma who was instrumental in publishing books based on Karmkand, Garhwal Literature & Astronomy had his publication & printing house located in the same region.
In the local language this village was also called ”Bhayat Shyom” later it was changed to it historical name which is more common now. The famous Jakh Devta every year descends on some person of the same village.
